Collaboration projects on town development with Yamanashi Prefecture and Fujiyoshida City

Yamanashi Prefecture, Fujiyoshida City, and Keio University concluded an agreement for the purpose of collaboration and cooperation in 2007, and by reviewing revitalization plans that make use of the local resources of Fujiyoshida City as well as those such as the world cultural heritage, history, and culture of Mount Fuji, nature, water, food, and agricultural products, as well as by continuously carrying out research on various practical models for solving regional issues, practical activities rooted in the region are being developed. Since AY 2010, this project has conducted research studies on topics that include advancing regional revitalization, enhancing the appeal of local areas, creating countermeasures against population decline, and designing attractive communities. As part of this initiative, students of Keio’s SFC campus and researchers from the SFC Research Institute have been doing fieldwork and investigative research activities.
