In addition, senior high school students who dream of "becoming researchers in the future" have been accepted as "special research students" since 2011 through a system that fully supports research activities, and in AY 2019, 18 students were accepted. Among those who were accepted as special research students, there are those who have found employment at one of the abovementioned venture companies after obtaining a degree at graduate school. At the Bio Summit for senior high school students (July 29–31, 2019), which has been held every year since 2011, 207 students from 82 schools in 27 prefectures participated, and through this, recycling-oriented human resource development and the formation of a global biotechnology center are being promoted. |
