Under a collaboration between Iwate Prefecture Hanamaki City and the Keio Research Institute at SFC, Professor Masatoshi Tamamura of the Faculty of Policy Management and his research group are conducting research and development on regional revitalization in Hanamaki City. Two graduate students have enrolled who live and conduct research activities in Hanamaki City, and the "construction of an activity model to prevent the extinction of traditional folk entertainment through collaboration with residents from outside the community" and "research on the process by which resident groups cooperate to revitalize the region" are being promoted.
