Bandai Town (Fukushima Prefecture) and the SFC Institute signed a memorandum of understanding in April 2021 to promote program development and organizational development for the creation and implementation of an individualized, optimal, and collaborative learning environment that will lead the future from Bandai Town and the Aizu region. Since FY2021, the general education meeting and community school will be established to discuss the development of specific educational programs and hold workshops with the participation of local residents to discuss the organizational structure for collaboration with the local community, which will be linked to the future education strategy of Bandai town.

In order to address various regional issues including regional revitalization and promote education and research on regional development using drones, a partnership agreement was signed between Fukushima Prefecture Tamura City and the Keio Research Institute at SFC in December 2016.

Every year, the SFC research group holds a special drone course on drone possibilities, safety knowledge and maneuvering skills at the prefectural Funehiki High School in the city. Due to the influence of COVID-19, the educational program that was held every year could not be held sufficiently, but since the `` Drone Consortium Tamura'' established in March 2018 is autonomously promoting the utilization of drones, this Was supported remotely.
(in 2022) This year, we organized special courses of drone flight management at the local elementary and junior high schools. Through the courses and the influences among the young generations to get in touch with the high technology through the drones, it was developed into the courses to educate fire fighters at the Tamura fire station. As a result, preparations to accept the migrants of highly skills to Tamura city had moved forward.
In AY 2023, students learned about AI and autonomous drone navigation while studying topics such as programming and AI object detection to help them think about solutions to local issues. In AY 2024, several brand new initiatives were introduced, notably underwater drones.
