Since 2017, under a collaboration between Iwate Prefecture Kamaishi City and the Keio Research Institute at SFC, Professor Masatoshi Tamamura of the Faculty of Policy Management and his research group are jointly promoting programs for researchers involved in regional revitalization with the aim of carrying out research and educational activities on regional revitalization and development using the local resources of Kamaishi City, and developing human resources that will be responsible for regional revitalization. In FY2023,we exchanged opinions and recruited researchers for regional development.

detailsSince 2018, in collaboration with Hanamaki City (Iwate Prefecture) and the Keio SFC Research Institute, the research group under Professor Masatoshi Tamamura from the Faculty of Policy Management has been conducting joint R&D on regional revitalization in Hanamaki City. In addition, since AY 2019, graduate students have been actively conducting research activities while residing in Hanamaki City, and have been working on projects such as “Creating a Kayoi-Kagura Model to Secure Performers from Beyond the Community for Folk Performing Arts,” “Research on Hobby Group Activities to Promote Voluntary Cooperation in Local Communities,” and “Building a Cooperative Community among Local Businesses to Develop Thank-you Gifts under the Furusato Nozei (Hometown Tax) System.”
