Collaboration projects with Kawasaki City: promotion of advanced research and new industries by industry, government, and academia.

The Shin-Kawasaki Town Campus was established as part of the "Shin-Kawasaki Sozo no Mori" in 2000 in cooperation with Kawasaki City, and as a base for industry-government-academia collaboration, is aiming to develop new industries and businesses through the promotion of advanced research. Specifically, 16 research projects in fields such as robotics, health and medical care, environment, and energy are being implemented (AY 2020). The various outcomes achieved through each of these research projects are then linked to the resources and needs of companies to create new technologies and industries, and venture companies are also being formed.
Furthermore, in collaboration with Kawasaki City, various events, including "Open Seminars" for industry, academia and citizens, etc. (held 3 times in AY 2020), as well as the "Fun Day Playing with Science" for children were held to widely introduce research achievements, to provide opportunities for learning science and technology, and to provide a place to experience the fun. These events were held online in 2020 to comply with the COVID-19 preventive measures.
