On February 2, 2020, an achievement presentation for the Shiraoka genki project was held. Since 2017, the research group of Professor Yoshinori Isagai of the Faculty of Policy Management has been working with Saitama Prefecture Shiraoka City to revitalize the Oyama and Seiga areas of the city where the population is declining. Students sold local vegetables in carts and brought excitement to local festivals and exchange events involving different generations. Shiraoka City praised the project for the change it brought in local awareness, including the active use of local resources by the residents. Shiraoka City was ranked 5th in the prefecture in 2019 for the most livable places rankings (Toyo Keizai Inc.).
